Lukashenko: Belarusians uphold traditions by voting for new Constitution

03.03.2022

Belarusians have always upheld their traditions and will continue doing so, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a ceremony to present state awards at the Palace of Independence on 3 March, BelTA has learned.

“Let the men with shoulder straps (I will mention them separately) not feel offended, but a woman has always been in the center of creation in any nation, in any culture,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

That is why, according to the president, Belarus has such a reverent attitude towards mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, as well as families, children and loved ones. “This is one of the foundations, I would even say, the fundamental pillar of our society. We have made this foundation even more robust in the new Constitution of our country,” said the head of state.

“We have always upheld our traditions and will continue doing so, as we have recently done by adopting the new Constitution. We will cherish it in the same way as we cherish the memory of our ancestors, the heroic history and the Slavic brotherhood,” the Belarusian leader said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko added that this mission would be impossible without men.

“To you, men, I put it simply: there is no more honorable profession than that of defending the Fatherland, serving the country and the people. Presenting the general's shoulder straps and well-deserved awards, I would like to thank you once again and the entire army and law-enforcement agencies for your service to our homeland,” the president said to the servicemen.
